Memaw and Pop

Clay and I went and saw Memaw and Pop yesterday - okay, a more accurate description of what we did was...we made a trip to Memaw and pop's house yesterday to destroy their house! Clay got into anything and everything and it could be found strewn about the house. He took all the plastic (butter) containers out of the cabinet, played with an ice bucket, tried to steal the remote control, continuously (and I mean every single other minute) turned the timer that buzzes on the oven on, took everything off the coffee table, removed every item from the basket underneath Memaw's side table, and then was exhausted! We had a great time at their house - and yes, we did clean up our mess before we left!

In other news - Harper and Taylor have new homes. While I have been sad about this I feel like we found them both GREAT homes! Harper went to live with a married couple in Forrest City. The wife (we will call her "M") loves dogs - she had a dig for 18 years until the dog passed away. She has wanted a dog but didn't want to have to train a puppy. (Little did she know...) When she opened the doors to her car I knew she would be a perfect fit for Harper - her and her sister and her sisters dog had spent the 4th at the lake and her sisters filthy, muddy dog had made his mark with mud all over her car. It takes a dog person to allow that to happen! She has A LOT of time to spend with Harper and was looking forward to Harper being a lap dog! Harper will love M!

Taylor went to a woman who's husband passed away recently - she is a younger lady and said she has gotten extremely lonely since her husbands passing. She has always had cats and surprisingly when she got to our house Taylor walked right up to her and rubbed all over her leg! Taylor NEVER does that - he typically takes quite a while to warm up to people. (If ever.) She wanted a cat that was lovey, needy, and a lap cat. Boy, did she get what she asked for! She has no other animals and cannot wait for Taylor to cuddle up next to her at night in the bed! Taylor will be lucky to be loved by her! (And yes, I am extremely sad, but I know it will be for the best.)

Casey and I have made another decision regarding traveling - a position came available recently in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is an 8 week assignment and we are extremely excited about it! There are a ton of bike trails there and it is so close to many places that we have never been! The NICU I will be working in is absolutely incredible also - comparable to Arkansas Children's Hospital in terms of numbers of beds, surgical patients, and severity of illness. I am looking forward to learning a lot! I am to the interview part of the process - I am just waiting to be contacted by the Director of the unit and a proposed start date. Hopefully all goes well and I will have an update shortly!

(I threw in a couple of pictures from this date last year - what a difference a year makes!)
