This is what our house looks like on a daily basis. And I'm so proud of it!
Those of you who know me well know that I have always liked things in their place. I like things clean. I like things orderly. I enjoy cleaning the house - it's my outlet. I want all the clothes clean at one time. I want the floor vacuumed constantly. I like all the water drops off the mirror in the bathroom. I like all my clothes in the closet to be in order according to color. I like all the blinds in the house to be turned the same way. I like the sheets to be clean constantly.
All of that changed (somewhat) May 22, 2010. The day our lives changed forever! All of a sudden the things in the above paragraph became a whole lot less important. While it was still important to vacuum every now and then - the rest of it kind of seemed silly to obsess about. The more stuff that was strewn about the floor, the better. The more toys that I step on, the better. The more out of order our house is, the more evidence that we have a wonderful little guy living among us!
I know what's important. Our house being messy, things being out of order, the sheets being crinkly, the floor getting vacuumed when there are a few too many cheerio pieces on the carpet, water splashes all over the bathroom mirror because Clay has thrown water out of the bathtub, the blinds hanging at all different lengths and at all different angles, my clothes thrown over the back of a recliner when clean instead of hanging perfectly in the closet.
Casey and Clay are my life. My love. My forever. My importance. I am the luckiest woman in the world.
(Clay is dancing in this picture - it is his new favorite thing...shaking his tail feather!)
