One of Three

We will officially be traveling as of 8/1. (if not a little sooner depending on the city and assignment)

It is down to three options.

1. Lone Tree, Colorado (A small city outside of Denver - absolutely beautiful place! I have not been there but everything I have researched about it sounds delightful!)

2. Washington D.C. (Apparently it is a bike-friendly city - and that is high on our priority list of locations. We would see a whole lot of history - because you know Casey and I are history buffs. )

3. Anchorage, Alaska (Now, I know what you may be thinking - "Are you crazy?" And the answer is probably yes! It is the perfect time of year to go if we were going to go. And it is among one of the most bike-friendly states as well. I have always wanted to experience Alaska, I just thought it would be via cruise ship!)

I listed our top three because we have to have a few to choose from. The travel company I am working with sends my resume, application, and qualifications to each of these places - I do a phone interview with each of them, and then I am offered a job depending on whether or not we seem to be a good match. I am excited, hopeful, and scared all at the same time!

I am hoping to go to Colorado first, honestly. For several reasons. 1. It is a compact state and therefore my Arkansas license is as good there as it is here. 2. It is close to home. (Just for the first time around.) 3. I have always, always wanted to go to Colorado and what better time than at the start of fall! 4. We have never taken more than a 2 hour drive with Clay in the car and though I know we will have to stop and stay overnight somewhere the thought of just staying one night in a hotel (versus at least 4 when traveling to Alaska) sounds appealing. 5. We will be traveling with a crazy dog and a crazy cat as well. (Crazy? Yes. We will see how the first travel trip goes - they may have to find a new home if all does not go well!)

I will keep everyone updated! Again, we are so excited about this adventure and we are so glad we are at a point in our lives that we can do this! What a story we will have!

P.S. Clay's new past time is playing with all of the diapers and wipes - he takes them out of the basket, puts them back in the basket, takes them out of the basket - you get the picture! I am using it as a great learning opportunity - I am praising him continuously while he places the diapers back in the basket (and encouraging it each time we play with the diapers) all while saying "thank you so much for helping mom clean up!" "You are such a great cleaner!" He loves the praise and I love the help!
