Fried Chicken

Clay and I took a trip to Memaw and Pops yesterday and boy, are we glad we did?! I called Memaw yesterday morning and asked if they had any plans for the day - Pop was going to rake the yard and she said she was not going to be doing a thing. Clay and I got there at about 1130 and wouldn't you know that the house was clean, the floor was mopped, and Memaw and Pop looked like a million bucks! (I'm sure Memaw frantically mopped the floor so Clay wouldn't get even a speck of dirt on him - the funny thing is, had she not mopped he still wouldn't have gotten a speck of dirt on him. Yes, she really does keep the house that clean.)

Pop decided it was lunch time and though I protested him making anything he whipped up fried chicken, home made mashed potatoes (pet milk and all), home made gravy, carrots with brown sugar, and green beans! Goodness! Who whips up a meal like that for lunch other than Pop?? It was delicious! I had two helpings of each. Clay tried a carrot and gagged. But at least he tried, right?

Clay was so sleepy because I messed up his nap schedule yesterday, but he was still so incredibly happy while we were there. He loved jumping all over Memaw and Pop - and he loved showing off his crawling skills all over their slippery hardwood floors! He was so cute! I think Memaw had a wonderful time playing with him and just loving on him - he didn't seem to mind too much either!

I am so glad Memaw and Pop are a part of his life. To know them is to love them. Clay will have great love for them as well, I'm sure of it.
