Thirty

We celebrated my thirtieth birthday last night at Casey's moms house and it was great! We were surrounded by family and friends - some went swimming, others watched while people were swimming! (I made a vow that I would not get in a swimming suit until next summer and I plan on keeping that promise. For my sake and for those around me.)

We ate Mexican food prepared by Casey's mom that was excellent! We ate until we were stuffed! And the cake...I don't even have to say anymore - it was delicious!

Thirty. I didn't know where I would be when I was thirty, but I cannot imagine being in any other place than where I am. A wife. A mother. A nurse. A lover of life! I am in the best place - I never knew thirty would be so great!

Clay was great the entire night. He did let us know however that he is the boss of us and when he says it is time for bed, HE MEANS IT! He started getting into his bedtime routine right on schedule at 7pm last night - he wants to eat, eat, and eat some more, get his bath, and go to sleep! We did keep him out later than he probably would have liked and it threw his routine off and we suffered because of it. All night. (I use the word suffer lightly - we did not suffer really, it was more like we lost sleep.) And he lost sleep. When he gets exhausted it makes it hard for him to get settled, just like any one of us. So, we went to bed at 1030pm and he was up from 1am to about 5 am - eating, fussing, pooping, and fussing more. The moral of the story is...we live by his bedtime rules.

It was a great night and thank you to all who shared it with us!
