I have really no excuse why I haven't posted. None.
I have been in orientation (at my new place of employment) for the past 2 days while Casey stayed home with Clay. They had a great time, I'm sure of it! I think I'm really going to like working in a much smaller hospital than I work at now - it has a small town feel!
Clay takes two and three steps at a time now - until he realizes what he's doing and then he squats down as if to say "I wasn't walking!" It is so cute. And amazing! I wouldn't say that he's "walking," but he's close! Maybe he's practicing so he can show off at his birthday party!
Casey, Clay and I have been riding down at the river trail quite a bit and it has been so nice! I LOVE riding my bike - it's an old school Banke with some gawdy blue wheels and blue tires on it! Casey just ordered some red and black wheels with red tires for it - the frame is white with black and red accents! (I will take a before and after picture to show how gawdy she is now and what a beaut she is after!) Clay loves the bike trailer - he takes it all in! We could ride for hours and he would be happy about it - we have only been riding for an hour at a time so far, but we will work up to hours at a time!
I feel free knowing that Casey and I have days off together and we don't have to fit every little bit of family time into the two hours we have together at night before Clay goes to sleep. It is WONDERFUL! I love knowing that we will have 2 days off together every single week.
We got another car seat - for Casey's car. We decided it would be much easier if we had his and hers cars. Instead of toting the car seat between the two, always having to adjust and then re-adjust the mirrors in each car, move all of our stuff from one vehicle to the other when we decided to switch cars, and so on. So now we both will have car seats in our cars, we both have bike racks on each car, and we both have bike/equipment carrying capabilities. It seems like a small thing, but it's a huge relief really. Makes things much easier. (Casey is driving the Prius because he drives to and from Little Rock at least five days a week - I am driving the Element because we don't! And the Prius gets absolutely incredible gas mileage.) We now have 2 "family vehicles."
What else? We are starting on a few projects around the house before Clay's birthday party - it will be the first time we will have hosted anything at our house and we have just a few loose ends to tie up before everyone comes over! (Like adding stairs off the deck - right now you have to jump off the deck and crawl on the deck - not ideal!) And maybe adding rails on the deck - we will see if we get to that before the party!
Yes, that is my phone that Clay is chewing on in this picture - I took it about 2 minutes ago! I don't know how he got my phone, but he was sure proud he did!
