Changes

Big changes are coming our way - and we are so excited about it!

We have really been trying to find a way to spend more time together as a family and truth be told - it's difficult to find that time when we work opposite shifts. We will no longer have that problem in a couple of weeks I am so happy to say!

We have debated for awhile over what to do to help this situation and this is our conclusion - I am going PRN (as needed) at UAMS, PRN at Saline Memorial in their nursery, and possibly PRN at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. Basically I will be on an "as needed" basis. Don't worry, there is always a need for nurses. (So, we will not come close to starving - that is why I have chosen to hold this position in several hospitals and not just one.) I will choose what nights/days I want to work, I will not have to work holidays if I so choose, and I will make a whole lot more per hour so not to have to work near as much. Thus lending my time to my family. (Which is most important.)

Don't worry, we will still have insurance coverage, we will still be able to pay our bills, we will still be able to save, we will actually be able to plan vacations without worrying that I will not be able to get off - we will have a whole lot more freedom as a family to function as a family unit! I cannot tell you what a relief it all is. I will cherish each moment as I do already - and I will remember all of these family moments for the rest of my life.

The next 3 weeks will be full of changes - hospital orientation at Saline Memorial, my last two weeks as a "full-time" employee at UAMS, transitioning into the PRN role in the UAMS NICU, and finally - FINALLY having days off with Casey! My heart is glad - I am beaming with excitement, I cannot even tell you!

And Clay would like to learn to play the guitar!
