New Tradition

Casey and I have made it a tradition each year to go cut down a Christmas tree, but this year marked the start of a new tradition. We went to Motley's Christmas Tree Farm (which was incredible by the way - millions of trees, a petting farm complete with goats, chickens, and some other things that looked a lot like chickens but were not chickens?, free hot cocoa, a 3000 sq. foot Christmas store, free hay ride, a "train" ride, and beautiful views of the city.) We decided that our new tradition would be to pick a potted Christmas tree that we could use inside during the holiday season and then plant in our yard! (Thank you, Casey, for that brilliant idea!) The tree is beautiful and I am excited that we are going to be able to plant it after Christmas! (The best time to plant said tree is in March or April, but it can live outside on the front porch until then.) We went Sunday afternoon and it was a beautiful day - 65ish, slight breeze, and no rain in sight - could not have been more perfect! We currently only have lights on the tree, but ornaments will soon follow!

Clay loved the Tree Farm - he loves anything to do with being outside! Have I mentioned lately what a wonderful little guy he is and how happy he is??
