It is hard to believe that Clay is almost 6 months old! It seems like yesterday that we were sleeping in the recliner, surviving on an hour at a time sleep, and breastfeeding every hour. I am so thankful that I am able to stay home with him during the week - I don't feel like I miss much. (I say that now and watch...he will start walking while I am at work.)
I got a Holiday at work today so Clay and I have spent the day relaxing, doing a few chores, and watching our neighbor build a koi pond. He is really working out there. I mean, really sweating. He was laughing at Clay and me sitting on the porch relaxing. He had his kids out there moving rocks around. He even had the oldest one help dig the (massive) hole that will eventually be the pond. It made me appreciate our neighborhood and the people in it. We live in a great place. (For the most part. Minus the kids that rang the doorbell - and broke it - and ran off at 10ish last night.) I feel safe out here. That's important. I also love that the majority of the neighborhood has at least one parent home on weekdays. I say "parent" because there are VERY few houses out here that children are not occupants. I think it will be a good place for Clay to grow for a bit! (Hopefully our next move will be a maybe-home-before-our-forever-home.) I'm not too keen on moving anymore. I like roots. I want deep ones for our family.
Just a short little post while Clay takes a quick nap! I am off tomorrow and Casey took off Monday - so, we will have two days off together! I can't tell you the last time we had two days off in a row together! (I am bursting with excitement! I miss Casey time.)
