Teething

So, we are teething now. And probably have been for a couple of weeks, but I missed the memo. I noticed him chewing on his hands constantly, getting a little testy (which is very unlike him), having watery yellow poop - like a pond-o-poop in the diaper (sorry for those have a weak stomach), trying to chew on anything and everything that got remotely near his little face, and drooling excessively. Duh. I don't know what I thought it was, but teething never entered my mind. When do babies get teeth? I had no idea. Apparently they start teething around 4 months. Hmmm - we will be 4 months on Sept. 22nd. So, my little toothless grin may soon be gone forever. (tear, sniff)

I am amazed how quickly he is changing. He is brilliant first of all. He is so interested in everything we are doing, saying, and especially singing. He loves us to sing. Either that or he is laughing at how ridiculous it sounds when I sing. Either way, he loves it. I have made up more stupid (and, yes, they are stupid) songs than I ever thought I would. We have a fingernail cutting song, a bathing song, a putting our feet in our sleepers song. I know. I am one of those moms. But if it makes him laugh, so be it!

I am looking forward to watching him grow. He is now in 6-12 month clothes (because of his length - thank you, Casey), 12-24 month socks (thank you, Casey), and the 12 month little shoes I have for him are too tight. (thank you again, Casey). He is going to have very large feet like his dad and hopefully he will be tall as well. It would be kind of hilarious if he looked exactly like his dad but was my height. Or not so hilarious. He will be loved either way - doesn't matter.

He is such a great sleeper. And he has to have his sleep. Don't interrupt his nap. He needs a warning sticker on him that reads "do not - under any circumstances - interrupt my sleepy time." He still doesn't cry, but if you dare wake him up - or if he doesn't nap well - he will be glued to your person 24/7. I mean it. I don't mind it, but he doesn't even want to be put down for a diaper change. So, he sleeps. When and where he wants to sleep. And he just woke up from his nap!
