It's Monday! This past weekend was a long weekend it seemed like. I missed my family terribly. This was the 4th weekend that I have worked and has been the hardest to date. Don't really know why, just wasn't feeling like being away from Casey and Clay. At all. (I never want to be away from them, but I have found that I am getting brain cells back when I am at work - after having been off for so long.) I got teary eyed every single morning I left this weekend - just didn't want to go.
So, again, thank goodness it's Monday. (Or Saturday for those of us who work weekends.) I think Clay and I are going to take it easy today - stay out of the heat.
I am looking forward to Wednesday! It will be the first day Casey and I have had a day off together in 1 month. (Ever since I went back to work.) We work opposite shifts - it works out for childcare purposes, but doesn't allow for us to spend a whole lot of time together. It has made me appreciate the time we do spend together a whole lot more though! We decided that we are going to paint our shudders on the house black and Casey wants to paint the front door "barn red." So, that is what we plan on doing Wednesday - spruce up the outside of our house! And get new pillows for our furniture on the front porch - "to make it pop" as Casey says.
In other news - Clay is laughing and talking a lot! If he's awake he is either really mellow or talking! Still not the fussy type! (I don't know why I think that might change - I just keep thinking that we are so lucky to have such a happy little guy. Maybe thinking we're too lucky!) He is holding his head up on his own, still a little wobbly though. And he is now wearing size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothing! (My friend that has a 15 month old that is wearing size 2 diapers. She is petite, but I think it might have something to do with the fact that Clay now weighs 15 pounds by our scale today!) Everyone always asks me what he's eating - formula or breast milk. And everyone is shocked to find out that he is eating strictly breast milk. I guess generally formula fed babies tend to be bigger. (I can't even imagine how big he would be already if were formula feeding him?! 23 pounds?) I don't expect him to be a small boy - he is trying to catch up to Casey. And quickly. (On a side note - Clay now almost weighs as much as our cat. Taylor weighs 16 pounds.)
