I am so thankful I got to spend time with Casey and Clay yesterday! Casey took the day off and it was our first day together in what seemed like a long time! (It was only a month, but it felt like a lot longer!)
We got up early (thank you Clay for the wake up call) and started painting! We painted our shudders black and Casey painted the front door barn red! It looks incredible! We also put different patio furniture on the front porch with new barn red pillows! And I finally trimmed the bushes in our front flower bed (flower bed without flowers, just a few overgrown bushes). (They had not been trimmed since we moved in in March 2008.) After all that we had a lunch date! We went to Bryant and ate Mexican food - Casey wanted fish tacos. Then we went to home depot - a popular future hangout for Casey and Clay. We rented movies, ordered pizza, and ate ice cream for the rest of the evening! It was an incredible day - I enjoyed it thoroughly.
This morning I hit the jackpot. I decided that I wanted to go to the grocery store (a chore I do every week and dislike every week) first thing this morning so I wouldn't have to get Clay out in the heat later today. I noticed that as I was driving down Military Road in Benton I was the only car on the road. And when I got to Kroger I was the only car in the parking lot. Literally the only car. I even drove by the front door before parking to make sure they were even open - it was 715am. I was the ONLY person shopping in Kroger and I loved it. So, my new Thursday morning chore is going to the grocery store while every other person in on the highway headed to Little Rock at 715am. (It doesn't quite feel like a chore when no one else is in the store!)
Oh, I called the after hours clinic last night also. From about 1pm yesterday I was having to wake Clay up to eat. Normally if he takes a nap between feeds he will wake up every time at the two hour mark. He has never slept longer than that, but yesterday he was SO sleepy. Even when I would wake him up to eat he wouldn't even make it through the feed without falling asleep and then he would go immediately back to sleep afterward. So, he ate at 1pm and then didn't wake up until 430pm (when I woke him up to eat), went back to sleep, then I woke him up at 730pm and I couldn't keep him awake long enough to finish his bottle. He went back to sleep and finally after not being able to keep him awake I called the clinic. They said to watch his temp because that is normally the first sign of illness. Possibly a virus. I don't think he's sick or anything, it was just very unusual for him to be so sleepy. He has been fine so far this morning, waking up and eating like a champ, so, I'm not too concerned. (The only reason I am a little concerned is because Casey has had a head cold for about 3 days now - just hoping our little one doesn't get it too.)
Off again to get ready for a weekend of work. It has gotten a little better by the way. I look forward to seeing the people I work with, using my brain in ways that I haven't used it in a long 9 months off, and it makes me appreciate my time with my family that much more. I'm glad that Casey and various family members are able to watch Clay while I am at work, it makes it easier for me to leave. I don't know what I would do if he had to go to daycare. Don't even want to think about it!
