We had our first field trip to our friends house yesterday! We went and visited Auntie J-Lynn and Uncle Eric! Okay, so, they are technically not Clay's aunt and uncle, but...They are friends of Casey's from high school and they might as well be aunt and uncle.
I have been hesitant to go too many places because we are still new to the breastfeeding thing and I am still not 100% comfortable. I am comfortable at home because I don't feel the need to cover up or be discreet about what I am doing. It's a weird thing that something that is natural and preferred is not really socially accepted. Not that I necessarily want to see women about with their breasts exposed all the time, but it would be nice to not feel ashamed about needing to feed my infant. Having said that, before I had my own little one I was a little (or maybe a lot) grossed out by breastfeeding. Don't ask me why, I just was. I work in the nursery and would vomit a little each time I had to help someone breastfeed or pump and now I am complaining that I can't whip my breast out in public - I am one of those people.
This really wasn't supposed to be a post about breastfeeding, it was supposed to be a post about visiting our friends! I will have to explore the breastfeeding issue at a later time when I have had more time to think about it.
So, Clay had a wonderful time and was so good the whole time we were there! I forgot to bring the camera unfortunately, so I don't have any cute pictures to share from our date! We listened to some wonderful music, including but not limited to Disney Movie favorites, watched two documentaries (one of which I will have to post about later because it disturbed and irritated me - I need to further explore why and then I will post about it), ate some good chinese food, and then had some awesome brownies and ice cream! Clay seemed to love the relaxed atmosphere they have created in their home - and loved being held by both of them, I might add! We had a great adventure out of the comfort of our own home!
