Yesterday we had a day of firsts...we had our first "tummy time" experience to strengthen our neck and back muscles and we had our first play mat experience!
Tummy time went something like this - placed on tummy, immediately face-planted nose into the blanket, and then hind quarters in the air! Very little head lifts, so, I guess he wants to strengthen his lower back muscles first! I did participate in this as well demonstrating such head and neck strengthening exercises, but to no avail! He was pretty cute trying though and a good sport!
He liked his play mat okay, though I'm not sure he enjoyed it as much as the cat has been enjoying it! He liked the lights that twinkled above his head, but wasn't too thrilled about the music selection. So, we turned the music off and listened to Baby Classical Favorites instead while he enjoyed the light show!
All in all it was a wonderful day of firsts for me and I am pretty sure he didn't mind it too much either! Loving every minute of him...
